GHA resident Imelda G. wins state art contest

Congratulations to GHA resident Imelda G., who won the annual "What Home means to Me" art contest of the The Georgia Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (GAHRA).

Imelda won a cash award and her work will now go to the regional competetion, and possibly the national art contest.

GAHRA includes 189 housing authorities across the state, representing 250,000 public housing residents.

Pictured with Imelda is Salissa Glutting (left), who works with low-income kids to awaken their creativity and encourage them in school and life. Salissa and her team of dedicated volunteers from Free Chapel have been working with GHA children for more than 5 years now, and this award is a nice reminder that dedication pays off.

Congrats to Imelda and a special 'thank you' to Salissa, James, Mitzy, Denise, Bethany, and other volunteers from Free Chapel!
