Meet Corey

Now he can put it in writing

Corey was a student in the 2012 R.I.S.E. program and he plans to go back next year. In addition to having lots of old-fashioned summer fun with other kids, Corey picked up something quite useful from the camp that he can use the rest oif his life: he learned the correct way to write the alphabet – something his parents, Ricky and Darlene F, were pleased to see.

“He’s a lot better at handwriting – some of his letters used to be backwards, but now they’re right,” said Ricky.

Corey also takes part in many other activities around the GHA, but he will likely choose the R.I.S.E. program as tops – in fact, now he can put it in writing.

Real Interactive Summer-Camp Experience is a summer camp for low-income children hosted by GHA and community partners Brenau University, Interactive Neighborhood for Kids, Gainesville City Schools, Georgia Mountain Food Bank, THINK and The Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation.
