RISE Summer Program honors 2019 graduates

The RISE Summer Program hosts its 2019 class graduation on Friday, June 28 at 10a.m. at the Fair Street School gym.
The ceremony features a student showcase that the students completed during the summer.
The summer learning-loss prevention program served 138 rising first-sixth grader at Fair Street School.

RISE also celebrates a milestone as it chalks up its eighth year. The program began in 2012 with the goal of reducing or eliminating the educational achievement gap for low-income children through a focus on education and healthy lifestyles, Program activities take place at Fair Street School, to which Gainesville City Schools provides access, in-kind, each summer.
RISE Summer Program is supported by Gainesville Housing Authority, Brenau University, Gainesville City Schools and made possible through grants from United Way of Hall County and Jackson EMC Foundation.

RISE uses an interactive learning environment to reinforce Georgia Standards learning objectives and its participants engage in a wide variety of educational and recreational opportunities including reading, writing, math, and computer skills development, supervised field trips, play/fitness activities, and arts and crafts.
