RISE Summer Program serves 140+ children each June at Fair Street School. With a 15:2 student-teacher ratio, we hire certified teachers who are supported by para pros, or student teachers, in each classroom. Using an interactive learning environment to reinforce Georgia Standards learning objectives, RISE participants engage in a wide variety of educational and recreational opportunities including reading, writing, math, and computer skills development, supervised field trips, play/fitness activities, and arts and crafts. Students have access to fully equipped computer labs, the Fair Street STEAM Lab and use of the playground. With the goal of exposing the children to educational and active field trips, they travel each Friday to a different destination such as the Atlanta Zoo, Skate Country, Gainesville Bowling Center and the Georgia Aquarium. In addition, the students attend Frances Meadows Aquatic Center for swimming activities one afternoon each week.
