It's Pre-K time to apply for 2020-2021

Do you want to apply for the Gainesville City Schools Pre-K program for 2020-2021?

From Gainesville City Schools: 
In order to register for the Gainesville City Schools Pre-K program, your child must have been selected through our Georgia Pre-K Lottery Drawing held on February 5, 2020. If your child was not selected in the drawing then you should complete the Wait List Form at the school board office.  Only students who reside within the Gainesville City School District attendance zones are eligible to be added to the wait list for their attendance zone. Once a space becomes available, parents will be notified based on the date of entry on the wait list (Priority order). 

Pre-K Extended Registration Dates – Each elementary school will host a Pre-K Extended Registration where parents can receive assistance with completing the registration packets (*students must have been selected from the Lottery in order to receive a packet during a Pre-K Extended Registration).

You will need the following documentation to complete the application process:

(*Please note that your child will not be able to start school until all required documentation has been received and verified).

 1.    BIRTHDATE VERIFICATION-  Birth Certificate or passport

2.    TWO (2) PROOFS OF RESIDENCE- Proof of residency- Gainesville City Schools requires the parent or guardian to provide 2 proofs of residency in the district at the time a student is initially enrolled in a school.  Proof of residency may be verified by presenting one from each column below:

4.     IF PROOF OF RESIDENCE is in a name other than the parent or legal guardian; a notarized school residency affidavit form must be completed and signed by both parties at the School Registration site.  The homeowner will need to also bring a copy of a recent bill in the homeowner’s name.

5.     GEORGIA CERTIFICATE OF IMMUNIZATION FROM #3231.  Students must have immunization records from other countries or states transferred to Georgia form #3231.  Forms must be marked complete for school attendance.

6.     GEORGIA VISION, HEARING, DENTAL and NUTRITION SCREENING Form  #3300 Services for both forms (#3231 and #3300) are available from the Hall County Health Department – 1290 Athens Street. (770) 531-5600.

7.     PARENT OR GUARDIAN must be present to enroll student(s) and must present photo identification.

8.     GUARDIAN must present a LEGAL GUARDIANSH
